The Campus Kitchen at Baldwin Wallace University (CKBWU) is a student-led organization that focuses on food waste and alleviation of hunger in the city of Berea. We have developed a student-run kitchen that keeps food from going to waste, and turn it into nutritious meals for those who are struggling with food insecurity . We have partnered with on-campus dining and local resources to rescue unserved, usable food, reducing waste for donors and food costs for meal recipients.
The Campus Kitchen at Baldwin Wallace is an affiliate of the national Campus Kitchen Project. We are one of 60+ schools who are making a difference to those who are hungry in our city. The BW Campus Kitchen is a great way for students to get involved on campus and to bridge the gap between BW and the Berea community in which we live.
In the process, we are developing student leaders and empowering them to create programs that open pathways between college and community. It's student-powered hunger relief.
